Bloggin' Blahs

Yup, I'm-a-sufferin' from the "bloggin' blahs". And when I suffer, so do the whopping 3 regular readers that I have. Assuming I even have 3 readers anymore.

Maybe it's been the heat. Maybe it's due to the pure exhaustion of chasing around a super active 2 year old. Maybe it's that I've been seemingly working around the clock for the past 2 weeks getting my classroom ready for this year's challenges. By the way, the kids come back tomorrow morning.

Maybe it's that I don't really know what to do with this blog anymore. I felt like I had a purpose before, but now I don't.

Any thoughts? Should I close down? Should I just be patient, and hope that my friends and readers are patient as well?

  1. I'm still here. So that's one. (And if you are short, I'll go and get the pets and make them read, and that's 4 more!)

  2. I hope you are counting me ... and if not then you have FOUR readers !!! hahahah.....
I hope that you are patient ... because I am still interested. You could just post pics of Andrew if you have nothing to say.....I hope you don't shut down .. but understand if you do. Just say goodbye first ..... please!!! SAM

  4. I've had the same thoughts myself. But I figure that people will read if they want to, and if they don't... well, then one day it will be a gift to the kids. I also enjoy writing it. If none of these things apply to you, then I can understand why you'd think about shutting down.

I'm the third commenter but I can't imagine we are the only three readers. There have to be more. :)

  5. Just be patient and blog when you feel like it. That's what Google Reader is for.

  6. I always feel that your blog is your journal. Sometimes you have nothing to really journal, but then you just put down your daily routines--and inspiration comes. (And you know, cute pics of the kid always are welcome!!)

  7. I'm in the same boat as you. I wonder if people really want to know the ins and outs of our life now that we're no longer in the process of adopting. I don't have many followers, and those that are following don't leave many comments, so really, what's the point? I wish that we had a more open relationship with Chipmunk's BM, but we don't by her choosing, so as far as adoption is concerned, now that both are finalized, there's nothing really to talk about other than stupid people who make stupid comments.

I love to read about your life, however, I totally get that it's not worth the effort sometimes. I do love reading about your visits with A's BM. It gives me hope that one day Chipmunk's BM will come around and want more than emails and pictures every few months. :)

Blogs change as people do. Is is your space, make it what you want.

  10. Still here and always will be. I feel the same about blogging. Tons to say, and yet no real urgency to blog. I figure though, it's always there when we need it, so no need to close shop. Even one update a year is wonderful.

  11. I still read you too. Our stories have been so similar along the way. I went through this same thing. I finally gave up my blog because I started it for one purpose and once I found resolution, I just didn't have as much to say, other than to dote on my son! I keep up with many bloggers on FB. Some days something happens and I wish I still had my blog, but feel like I just don't have enough to say anymore. Life has become pretty "normal." It's really up to you if you still feel like coming here every so often, but you should never feel pressured to write if there's nothing to write about. I know a lot of people would miss you if you go!

  13. I am so glad you are back. I also went through the blogging blah's a few months back and then I decided that I was doing this for my family and for my friends who care about us. So that is how I right. I purchase a book that contains my entire blog once a year and it serves as a family record so to speak!!!

  14. I've been in the blogging blahs for over a year now. It's a joke to even call myself a blogger since I think I've written 3 posts in over a year. But I still read my friends' blogs faithfully (including yours, of course!). I guess in some way I've come full-circle. For a long, long time I was a lurker with no blog.

Keep blogging whenever you see fit. I'll be here waiting and reading. :-)

    Hey Chris,
You probably don't realize that I check your blog every day to see if you posted something new or not. I enjoy hearing about family stuff and what's happening. It's an easy way for me to keep up with my old friends that I don't see everyday. You do what you want with your blog and post when you can.

  19. You could post about Andrew :) I don't think I have many readers but I love to just post whatever I'm thinking or feeling. You could make a teacher blog and blog about great ideas you come up with, etc. I enjoy reading..please don't go away :)

  21. Hey there! I haven't been keeping up much in the blogging world at all lately, but I hope you stick around...sometimes it's the only way I have to catch up with you and Andy! I've had the bloggin' blahs myself lately, partially because I'm back to work so by the time I'm done the last thing I want to do is sit in front of the computer again...and also because even though she isn't here yet, so much has changed with what I wrote about before. Anywho, miss you friend! :)
