Face 2 Face
Several months ago we found out that Elton John and Billy Joel were going to be performing their Face2Face concert here in Phoenix. I just had to go! Unfortunately, when B tried to order pre-sale tickets the only ones available were $260 each and I just wasn't willing to spend that kind of money. Fortunately, when the pre-sale was over and tickets were available for the general public we were able to get tickets at a much more reasonable price. As I said, this was months ago and I've been patiently (read: impatiently!) waiting ever since. Last night my wait was over!
My good friend Stacy graciously offered to babysit so that we could have an official date night. This was quite an undertaking for her as she is 8 months pregnant and has an almost 2 year old to boot, so were were (and are) quite appreciative. After dropping off Andrew we had time to go out for a nice dinner first. We had a hard time remembering the last time we had been out without the baby!
We arrived in our seats for the concert just as it was starting, and I'm so glad we didn't miss a minute of it. Billy Joel and Elton John played and sang together for a while, then Elton John performed for a while, then Billy Joel performed for a while, and finally they came back together for several songs at the end. This was just such a fun concert to attend, and long too, nearly 3 1/2 hours! I've been to each performers' concerts before, and they have been excellent. Together they are just completely amazing. There's just something special about hearing all of these songs live, amongst so many fans, when we've been listening and singing along to these songs for our entire lives.
I'm also really glad that the Arizona Republic published this photo so that I could share it here with you.
In other news, B has finally started his own blog! So, please pay him a visit at Lost In My Own Little World and give him a warm and squishy bloggy welcome.
