Today our birth mom called us around 12:30 as the nurses had just told her to come back to the hospital after her morning monitoring session. We met her over there in the Labor and Delivery triage and found her to be in a great deal of pain from the contractions and pressure. The doctor ordered more of the same medication she has been on. After a couple hours of her being monitored, and deciding that the meds weren't really controlling her contractions enough, she was admitted and placed on a magnesium drip. By the time that kicked in she was feeling less pain as the contractions came. Hopefully things will continue to settle down for her.
We are glad that she is in the hospital where she can be closely monitored and kept comfortable. Hopefully she will be able to sleep and get some rest tonight. I'm sure we will be over to visit her tomorrow. The goal is to keep her pregnant until Monday.
