POAS Syndrome

I am afflicted with the above mentioned affliction. I am on day 26. I became afflicted on day 24. I have 2 more days to go. I'm really not all that hopeful, but a positive result is the only thing that would keep me from starting an IVF cycle. After all, how likely is it that I dodge the IVF bullet twice? Yeah, not really likely. That's what I thought. Which is probably why I succumbed to POAS Syndrome two days ago. At which time the test is only 50% accurate. At which time, the test said, "No luck for you, sucker!". Most tests will simply say, "not pregnant". But, no, mine needs to throw out insults. As it stands now there is one test left in the box. And my temps are still up. So I just need to hang in there another couple of days. I expect my temp to drop on Tuesday and Aunt Flo to arrive later that day. Then I will call the nurse at the RE's office, tell her we are a "go" for IVF and schedule the lookieloo of the inside of my ute.

  1. I mostly stay away from sticks until I'm past due for AF, but then when I get it, I don't believe it (plus I don't want to drink or take Clomid if it's a fake AF), so I POAS anyway just in case I could be that lucky. Hopefully you get to avoid IVF, but if you don't, it'll be something new with new stories and new things to learn - you could turn it into something positive where you take lots of pics of all the steps, so one day your kid can see all you did and how much you wanted them:-)

So long as your temps are up there is still hope. I'll keep everything crossed for you, (except my legs, it's almost time to start BDing, LOL).

  4. I have also had to wean myself from the sticks. I at least make myself wait until 12dpo (my LP is usually about 14 days). I swear I feel the same way you do about the insults. It can read "Not Pregnant" but to me it reads, "Yeah, right! Are you kidding?"

I hope that the elusive BFP appears in the next few days but, as the others have mentioned, IVF will bring along new hope and new experiences.

I will be thinking of you.

    XOXO,
    Kristen
